Planning the Next Chapter for Your Practice?

At Doctors Vision Group, we partner with independent clinic owners who are looking ahead to the next stage of their journey. Whether you are planning for retirement, reducing administrative responsibilities, or looking for operational support to help your clinic grow, we offer flexible transition options built around your goals.

Our approach is simple: protect what makes your practice special while providing the infrastructure, resources, and operational expertise needed for long-term success.

We believe independent optometry matters. Our role is to support clinic owners, doctors, staff, and patients through thoughtful transitions that preserve continuity of care and strengthen the future of the practice.

Things to Be Aware Of When Selling Your Practice

Selling your optometry practice is one of the biggest professional and personal decisions you will make. Beyond the financial side of the transaction, it is important to consider:

  • Your ideal ownership structure after the sale
  • Whether you want to continue practicing clinically
  • Your timeline for retirement or transition
  • How your staff will be treated
  • How your clinic’s brand and reputation will be preserved
  • The operational experience of the buyer
  • The future patient experience under new ownership

At Doctors Vision Group, we understand these concerns because we have built our organization around long-term relationships, continuity, and sustainable growth.

Our Acquisition Process

What Does the Transition Process Look Like?

The integration and closing process begins after legal agreements are signed and typically lasts approximately 60 days until close.

This is a critical transition period designed to create a smooth experience for clinic owners, doctors, staff, patients, vendors, and payors. Our goal is to ensure everyone involved is properly prepared and supported throughout the ownership transition.

During this period, the Doctors Vision Group operations team works closely with clinic leadership to:

  • Prepare all stakeholders, doctors, and staff for the transition
  • Coordinate communication with vendors, payors, and other third parties
  • Gain access to the clinic EMR system and integrate it into our reporting infrastructure
  • Prepare operational systems, workflows, and support processes ahead of closing

Why Clinic Owners Choose Doctors Vision Group

Doctor and Patient Focused

Everything we do starts with supporting exceptional patient care and helping doctors focus more on practicing optometry, not managing operations.

We Preserve Clinic Identity

In most cases, we continue operating clinics under their existing names because we understand the importance of local reputation, community trust, and long-standing patient relationships.
